Leadership Team
Brian J. McGoldrick, Esq.
Immigration Attorney
Brian began his immigration career in law school in 1992 taking asylum cases under his professor’s supervision. In 1993 he was published in the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal.
He volunteered as an asylum attorney with Public Counsel in Los Angeles and over the years helped immigrants pro bono with asylum, appeals to the BIA and to the 9th Circuit. Most recently he worked for the United States Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI), a nonprofit organization with an office in San Diego. Their mission was to assist Afghans that had come to the US in the Airlift or had made their way to the US through the Mexican Border. Over the last 3 years Brian has filed over 200 asylum applications for Afghans seeking refuge here in the United States.
In June of 2025 Brian watched as one of his clients was arrested as they walked out of his immigration court hearing. Brian was able to secure his release through Habeas Corpus and this has opened the door to his current mission: helping as many people as he can who are victims of the ICE abductions that throw migrants into detention.
Brian is also an ordained priest and volunteers his time supporting Detention Resistance at the San Diego Immigration Courts and visiting detainees at the Otay Mesa Detention Center.
