Join the AfghanEvac Oral History Project

We are capturing the stories of those who helped Afghans following the withdrawal of U.S. and allied forces from Afghanistan in August 2021. This project aims to document the personal experiences of everyone involved in the Afghan relocation efforts whether they started before, during, or after August 2021.

Who Can Participate? Anyone who contributed to these efforts, including but not limited to

  • NGO/non-profit staff (paid or volunteer)

  • Government employees (local, state, federal, or otherwise)

  • Journalists

  • Afghans (as travelers or advocates)

Interview Details

  • Format: Virtual

  • Duration: 30-60 minutes

  • Approach: Minimal interviewer intervention to let you share freely

Privacy: Recordings will be stored securely. You may choose not to have your interview shared publicly or used for advocacy.

Process

  1. Complete the signup form on our website.

  2. Our team will review your submission and email you a link to schedule your interview.

  3. Receive a Zoom link for your session.
