Resilience for Resettled Afghans

  • Post-Resettlement Behavioral Health Support Program for Afghan Arrivals

    The U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants launched this program to increase access to behavioral health services for Afghan Placement and Assistance Program (APA)-eligible clients throughout the United States. USCRI will provide direct clinical support and access to culturally and linguistically appropriate trauma-informed behavioral health services.

  • Institute for Muslim Mental Health

    The Institute for Muslim Mental Health is committed to optimizing the Muslim community’s emotional health and wellbeing by mobilizing a network of mental health professionals to ensure all American Muslims have access to high-quality resources.

  • The Independence Line

    Callers can find assistance related to housing, food, mental health, health care, clothing, legal assistance and a host of other resources. Call center staff also work with The Independence Fund’s case management team to find the best, quickest services to fill any gaps.

  • Give an Hour

    Give an Hour provides barrier-free access to mental health care and educational resources for those in need. Use their online search tool to find local providers who offer limited, free sessions for mental health. You can specifically search for a provider who is male/female; speaks Pashto; or is Afghan American.

  • Muslim American Society

    MAS-SSF is the only dedicated Islamic organization offering social services with a focus on mental health. Includes peer counseling sessions in Dari, Farsi, and Pashto. Your fee is based on a sliding fee scale according to your household income; often, services are offered for free.
