Promise Walk | Veterans Day Unisex T-Shirt

On Veterans Day, we walk from the Lincoln Memorial to the U.S. Capitol.

The route is short. The journey it represents is not. Afghan allies, U.S. veterans, and frontline civilians have been walking this road together for more than two decades, from the battlefields of Afghanistan to the chaos of Kabul’s airport to the halls of Congress, where the promise made to our allies still waits to be kept.

The back of the shirt carries the words that started at the Memorial. In 1865, Abraham Lincoln called on the nation “to care for him who shall have borne the battle.” Keeping faith with those who stood with us is not a new idea invented for this moment. It is one of the oldest promises America has made, and the Afghans who bore the battle beside our troops are part of it.
