Afghan Mission Partners Fly-In · November 9 to 11, 2026 · Washington, D.C.

They stood with us. Come stand with them.

Join veterans, Afghan allies, and the people who served beside them to urge Congress to pass the Afghanistan TPS Act. Come for one day or all three.

Monday, November 9 to Wednesday, November 11

Why now

The petition opens the week we arrive.

Temporary Protected Status for Afghanistan has ended. Afghans our government vetted and brought here are losing their work permits and facing deportation to a country run by the Taliban.

The bipartisan Afghanistan TPS Act (H.R. 9899 and S. 5308) would restore TPS for Afghanistan through July 1, 2029, require decisions within 90 days, and waive fees for people who qualify only because of the designation.

The House returns November 9, and a discharge petition is expected to open that week. 218 signatures force a vote. Every petition expires when this Congress ends on January 3. We are going to Washington to line up signatures on day one and win new Senate cosponsors.

The asks

Two asks, one bill.

House offices

Sign the discharge petition for H.R. 9899.

218 signatures bring the Afghanistan TPS Act to the floor whether or not leadership schedules it.

Senate offices

Cosponsor S. 5308.

Every new cosponsor makes the Senate companion harder to ignore once the House acts.

The week

Three days. Pick yours.

Monday, November 9

Staff day

Morning training, then meetings with congressional staff and caucus briefings. Evening happy hour.

Tuesday, November 10

Member day

Meetings with members of Congress, a lunch with remarks from congressional champions, and a community dinner.

Wednesday, November 11

Veterans Day

A morning gathering led by veterans and Afghan allies. Details go to everyone who signs up.

Every meeting team pairs a U.S. veteran with an Afghan ally, so each office hears both sides of the promise. No policy experience is needed. We train you Monday morning.

Who we need most

Everyone is welcome. These voices open the most doors.

1

Veterans and frontline civilians who served in Afghanistan

You can say what the promise meant on the ground.

2

Afghan allies and their families

You are the people this bill protects.

3

Faith and community leaders

You speak for the neighbors who welcomed these families home.

4

People who live in Republican-held districts

Your member's signature is the one that moves the count.

Who sets up the meetings?

We do. We schedule meetings with your representative and senators based on your home address and send your assignments before November 9.
